JULY 2021
Dear Bluff Middle Parents/Guardians,
We are very excited about the upcoming school year and getting our students back on campus! Here are a few updates about the upcoming prep day and school year.
PREP DAY
Unfortunately, due to the rising Covid cases recently we have decided to make some changes to our prep day. We will no longer be hosting an orientation for our 6th grade students. Prep day will still be IN PERSON at Bluff Middle. Students will be able to pick up schedules and devices. Proof of residency will be required. We do strongly encourage those attending prep day to wear a mask. This is to help protect everyone attending and our faculty members as we begin the school year. Please see the times below. We have staggered times for each grade level based on last name. Another message with more detailed information about prep day will be sent out next week.
Saturday August 7th
8-9:30 – 7th Grade (8-8:30 A-H; 8:30-9 I-Q; 9-9:30 R-Z)
9:30 – 11 – 8th Grade (9:30-10 A-H; 10-10:30 I-Q; 10:30-11 R-Z)
11 – 12:30 – 6th Grade (11-11:30 A-H; 11:30-12 I-Q; 12-12:30 R-Z)
LEAP SCORES
LEAP scores are being mailed out to students tomorrow morning. You should be receiving them soon. We are very proud of our students and their achievement. Everyone worked extremely hard through very difficult conditions last year.
COVID PROTOCOLS
As we enter the 2021-22 school year we are following guidance for school operations from the LDOE and our district. Visit a special page on our website for the guidelines and practices designed to keep students and staff safe for in-person learning as we open schools for the 2021-22 School Year. These guidelines and practices are fluid and could be revised throughout the school year as we respond to fewer cases or an increase in cases. The practices and guidelines are designed to prevent an infectious spread of COVID-19 from taking place in schools and district offices.
Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. We look forward to another terrific year at Bluff!
Thanks,
Dr. Matthew Monceaux
