Monthly Bluff Middle Club Day

BETA

• You must have at least a 3.0 with no more than 1 “C” on your final report from last school year.
• Must maintain a 3.0 or better with only 1 “C”. If a student receives more than 1 “C” in a 9 weeks, they will be on probation. If they do not bring those “Cs” up in the next 9 weeks or they receive another “C”, they will be dismissed from Beta club.
• Maintain conduct grades of “B” or better. If a conduct grade is below a “B,” the student will be placed on probation and expected to improve this or will be dismissed from Beta club.

Youth Legislature

• Youth Legislature is a middle school program that introduces students to the legislative process.  
• Students elect a Governor and House and Senate officers. They also sponsor, debate, pass and fail bills, which they have drafted. They lead and serve on legislative committees and speak publicly before an audience.
• We will attend the Youth Legislature March 10th and 11th at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

4-H

• In 4-H, students complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement in a positive environment. 
• It empowers young people with the skills to lead both in school and throughout the community. 
• Students will participate in fun projects both individually and as a club. There are hands-on, learning opportunities for everyone.

ROBOTICS

• The Robotics Club at Bluff Middle School is an interactive, student-led club that offers students an opportunity to design, build and program autonomous robots utilizing Lego Mindstorm technology. 
• Students will also work together to design solutions to a real-world problem through the application of science, technology and mathematical concepts. 
• Students will build self-confidence, knowledge, teamwork skills and life skills through the engagement of group work during these activities. 
• Expert advice and guidance will be provided by the adult sponsors and the robotics competition team throughout the year.

The band is comprised of students from 6th-8th grade and is a performance-based class that is dedicated to TEAMWORK and strives for EXCELLENCE, while creating a POSITIVE culture through music.

Did you know that the band is one of the largest organizations on campus with just over 130 members? Becoming a member of the band will give you an opportunity to learn how to play an instrument, create music surrounded by friends, perform at several concerts throughout the year, and develop leadership skills! 

Members of the 6th grade band are beginners and will learn how to play the instrument that they have qualified to play. The 6th grade band will have three concerts throughout the year to showcase everything that they have learned. Members of the 7th and 8th grade band will continue to develop their skills on the instrument while performing in parades, participating in football games, auditioning for honor bands, preparing solos or ensembles, and performing at several concerts throughout the year.

The Bluff Roaring Bear Band has represented Bluff very well by earning 13 seats in the District IV Honor Band and the Sweepstakes award at District Assessment in 2021.

In Ascension Parish, student may participate in athletics as 7th and 8th graders.
